I recently stayed at the coolest new hotel in Brisbane, the Calile Hotel. This place is stunning, with a giant bathtub in the room, airport transfers in an electric BMW, and a stunning pool surrounded by sausage legs. Let’s dive into the details.
Arrival and First Impressions

When I requested an airport transfer, I didn’t expect such a luxurious experience. The electric BMW was impressive, with a massive panel at the front and a sleek exterior. They even provided water for the 25-minute drive to the hotel. Upon arrival, the hotel’s beautiful modern architecture with a retro feel caught my eye. The design, featuring arches throughout, is both elegant and unique.
Amenities and Services

Outside the hotel, bicycles are available for rent, and a complimentary car service is offered for trips within six kilometers. The lobby is open and minimal, with friendly staff who clearly enjoy their work. I didn’t spend much time there, though, as the service was so efficient.
The Room

I stayed in a Deluxe Suite, which was around 49 square meters. The suite included a bar/kitchenette area stocked with snacks, drinks, and coffee/tea essentials. There was also a small cupboard with an ironing board and iron, and the room could connect to an adjoining room if needed.

The suite featured a balcony overlooking the pool, a spacious living area with a large bench, and a luxurious bathroom with a large bathtub and twin sinks. The shower was a bit narrow, reminiscent of a swimming pool shower, and the toilet was also on the narrow side, but functional. The bathroom was well-stocked with amenities, including an abundance of shower caps and bath salts.

The bedroom had plenty of space for luggage, with drawers containing a safe, hangers, and a hairdryer. There was an office area with a view of the pool, making it hard to focus on work, and a TV that we didn’t use much. The balcony was a perfect spot to relax and enjoy the view.

The Pool and Other Facilities

The pool area was lively and busy all day, with music playing throughout. The balconies are built like arches, allowing you to see your neighbours. As an avid bathtub enthusiast, I spent a lot of time in the room’s bathtub before heading to the pool.

The pool is reserved for hotel guests, and offers daybeds and cabanas that don’t require booking. The poolside experience was delightful, and my watermelon cocktail was perfect for the warm weather.

Other facilities on this floor include a well-equipped gym focusing on weights and cardio machines, Kailo Spa for pampering sessions, and a library with two meeting rooms and a record player.
Dining at Hellenika

Hellenika, the Greek restaurant next to the pool, has a casual yet elevated atmosphere. The menu offers a great variety, ideal for groups. Dining alone, I enjoyed pita bread with spreads, oysters, and a free sample of their soup. The red pepper and feta spread and taramasalata were delicious, as was the tender calamari. I even created a new flavour abomination by mixing the calamari with the taramasalata spread.
Event Spaces

The hotel has several event spaces, including an amphitheatre with great views of the pool, and a terrace area primarily used for functions. On level two, you can access the amphitheatre as well. The rooftop garden, where they grow most of their herbs and vegetables, is another event area. The rooftop also features solar panels, making it an eco-friendly spot.
Conclusion
I had an incredible stay at the Calile Hotel, and I highly recommend it for anyone visiting Brisbane. If you enjoyed this blog post, please let me know. Next time, join me as I explore beautiful sunny Singapore!
